The RSA – Creating a better future

The RSA Fellowship is a powerful national and international network of accomplished individuals and active citizens committed to social progress. Through our ideas, research and 27,000-strong Fellowship, we seek to harness the extraordinary amount of untapped creative potential in society by empowering people to be active participants in creating a sustainable future. Our approach is multi-disciplinary and politically independent. We bring great ideas to global audiences, carry out cutting-edge research and development projects, undertake practical innovation and mobilise the talents and commitment of our Fellowship.

RSA Fellows are shaping the solutions to today’s most pressing social problems.

The RSA – Heritage

The RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) was founded in 1754 by William Shipley. A progressive thinker of his day, Shipley had a bold vision to ‘embolden enterprise, enlarge science, refine arts, improve our manufactures and extend our commerce’. For more than 260 years the RSA has been a cradle of enlightenment thinking and a force for social progress.
